Ich weiß, wie es den meisten von uns geht, wenn wir eine Städtereise unternehmen. Eine der größten Fragen, die entsteht ist “Welche Sehenswürdigkeiten sollen wir eigentlich besuchen und was gibt es besonderes in dieser Stadt?” Eine der Entdeckungen, die sich mir dargeboten hat und die ich allen Fashionistas und vor allem “bag addicts” empfehlen würde, ist das “Tassenmuseum Hendrikje Amsterdam – Museum of Bags & Purses” – das größte Taschenmuseum der Welt. Wie ich auf dieses Museum gekommen bin? Ganz zufällig! Als wir eine Bootstour den Wasserkanal entlang in den Herengracht unternahmen, aber darüber erzähle ich ein nächstes Mal, fiel mein Blick für einen Moment spontan nach oben, wo wir gerade an dem “Tassenmuseum” vorbei fuhren. So fiel mir das Museum auf und ich wollte es unbedingt am nächsten Tag besuchen. Das war übrigens unser letzte Tag der Amsterdamer Reise, besser konnten wir unsere Stadtreise nicht abschließen. Meine Erwartungen wurden mehr als bestätigt.
500 Jahre Geschichte der Tasche, beginnend von dem 16. Jahrhundert und bis zum Modernen, wurde in diesem Museum gesammelt. Die begehrten Modelle von Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Dior, die berühmte Cupcake-Handtasche von Judith Leiber aus dem Film „Sex and the City“ und viele anderen exclusiven Stücke, sie alle findet ihr in diesem traumhaften Museum. Und zum Ausklang des Museumsbesuchs könnt ihr eure gesammelten, wunderschönen Eindrücke bei einer Tasse Kaffee und einem Stück Kuchen im Museumscafé noch einen Moment geniessen. Das Café im imposanten Stil fand ich persönlich ganz bezaubernd.

I know how it goes for the most of us, if we make a city trip. One of the biggest questions that arises is “What sights should we visit and what is special about this town?” One of the discoveries, which has been presented to me and I would recommend to all fashionistas and especially to “bag addicts”, is the “Tassenmuseum Hendrikje Amsterdam – Museum of Bags & Purses” – the largest bag museum in the world. How did I come to this museum? Quite by chance! As we took a boat tour along the water channel in the Herengracht, but I’ll tell you about it next time, my gaze fell spontaneously to the top exactly at the moment as we just passed the “Tassenmuseum”. Thus, I noticed the museum and wanted to visit it the next day. Incidentally, it was our last day of the Amsterdam travel, better we could not complete our city tour. My expectations come true.
500 years of the bag history, starting from the 16th century and up to the moderns, was collected in this museum. The sought-after bags of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Dior, the famous cupcake handbag by Judith Leiber from the movie “Sex and the City” and many other exclusive pieces, they all can be found in this wonderful museum. And by the end of the visit you can still enjoy your collected beautiful impressions over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in the museum café. The cafe in its imposing style I personally found quite enchanting.
