Evan Hirsch DesignsAt The Met Gala 2025

May 5th, 2025 (New York City) –  Tonight, celebutante Bobby Digi Olissa (right), husband of Laurie Cumbo (left), the Commissioner of NYC Culture under the Administration of Mayor Eric Adams attended the 2025 Met Gala wearing a look designed & creatively directed by designer Evan Hirsch.

The overall look was inspired by the Yoruba Tribe of Nigeria with the tribal motifs integrated into the design in thoughtful ways throughout.  The suit was hand tailored in NYC under creative direction of Evan Hirsch who oversaw every stitch of the production process.

Hirsch’s signature cape was wonderfully accented by custom hand-beaded brooches inspired by tribal motifs of the Yoruba tribe. The shirt collar was accented with a lizard motif “bowtie” hand beaded in a traditional tribal color story. The handmade crown of stars was confected by the designer himself on special request of Mr. Olissa.

This is the second year in a row that Mr. Olissa commissioned his look for the Gala from Evan Hirsch.

Evan’s list of commissions for the red carpet is growing by the season and he’s available for commissions for openings, premiers, Galas, and any other special occasion.
